Massive cyberattack disrupts the work of the National Institute for the Supervision of Food and Drugs of Colombia
The organization had to shut down its website and servers while the incident was being investigated.
On Monday, the National Institute for Food and Drug Administration of Colombia (INVIMA) released a statement saying the organization had to take its website and servers offline while it investigates the cyberattack.
The report also says that the institute's technical team was able to protect sensitive data from intruders. Even so, some of the systems used to import essential medicines are not currently available.
Experts note that in 2022 the number of attacks on organizations in South America has increased significantly. You don't need to look far for examples - we recently wrote about an extortionate attack on a government agency in Chile and a devastating Conti cyber attack, due to which martial law was introduced in Costa Rica.
