  • Hashish Addiction

    Hashish (plasticine, stone, marijuana, charras, ganja) is one of the common drugs that drug addicts use to smoke. Due to the similar type of action, this drug is sometimes confused with marijuana. The name "hashish" itself is of Arabic origin and translates as weed. The first mention of hashish appeared in the 5th-6th century BC.

    Hashish addiction is the abuse of substances made from cannabis. Usually, a psychoactive substance is consumed by inhalation of smoke (smoking), less often chewed, taken orally in solid or liquid form. After use, euphoria, laughter, a feeling of a rapid flow of thoughts, as well as fantasies and illusions (including group ones) occur. There is a loss of contact with others, with the exception of group members who participated in taking the psychoactive substance. Addiction usually develops over several years. With prolonged use, a psychoorganic syndrome develops. There is often a transition to harder drugs.

    The composition of hashish

    Hashish is a "fatty extract" of hemp varieties Indica, Sativa. The leaves, the sticky oily layers of the flowering tops of the plant, are dried and crushed. Then the resulting powder is pressed to form briquettes. They can be of various shapes, plastic or solid, dry or powdery. The color is variable: from brownish, light gray to completely black.

    Hashish is often confused with marijuana despite the fact that these products are made differently. Marijuana is lighter in color and is often presented in cubes of pressed cannabis grass, including buds, leaves, stems and seeds. Hashish differs not only in appearance, but also in strength. It has a greater psychoactive effect, as it has a high concentration of tetrahydrocannabinol - a psychoactive substance, due to which changes in the mind of the consumer occur.

    How hashish affects the body?

    Hashish has a particularly negative effect on the human body, especially on the psyche. A drug for several applications can lead to clouding of consciousness, unreasonable irritability and uncontrollability. The effect of the drug occurs almost instantly after use. The change in mental state in this case largely depends on the amount of the drug. Also, the effect of the drug depends on the final goal, whether the person wants to get some specific effect or whether he tried the drug by accident. A gradual change in the psyche can lead to the appearance of psychosis, panic attacks, depression, and cases of suicide are not uncommon.

    Formation of hashish addiction

    The disease proceeds in 3 stages. It corresponds to mental, and in some cases, physical dependence (with clinical manifestations of withdrawal). Narcotization 1-2 times a week can last for a long time without the formation of dependence on hashish. But if there is a need to take surfactants, then it is most likely to think about the developed disease process.

    Signs of use

    Unfortunately, there are no exact signs by which one can confidently say whether a person smokes hashish or not. However, it was possible to identify a number of behavioral "signals" indicating addiction:

    Frequent mood swings, especially towards aggressive behavior;
    hallucinations;
    Rave;
    Feeling of persecution;
    Overexcitation.

    Physical withdrawal begins to be actively demonstrated in the second stage of addiction. The rate of development depends on the frequency of drug use and the size of the dose. For some it will be enough for six months to regularly smoke Puck, while for others the dependence manifests itself after several years.

    Reasons for use

    In some countries, hashish is legalized, sometimes used in the treatment of certain diseases. There is an erroneous opinion that it is absolutely harmless and does not contribute to the development of addiction, so many people start smoking it without thinking that they are taking a step towards more dangerous drugs.

    A tendency to develop drug addiction is observed in people who are morally weak, susceptible to negative external influences, with a hereditary predisposition, who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, and who abuse alcohol.

    Consequences of use

    The personality of a drug addict suffers especially significantly, his behavior changes, aggression and cruelty, depression and apathy occur, mental disorders often develop. Signs of addiction are as follows:

    Persecution mania or paranoia;
    Delusions of a paranoid nature;
    The first signs of schizophrenia appear;
    Hallucinations, both auditory and visual;
    Obsessions arise, sometimes life-threatening.

    In other words, hashish has a particularly negative effect on human health.

    Hashish addicts are completely devoid of any initiative and are socially maladjusted. Employability is reduced to the level of disability. As a result of vascular disorders of the brain and damage to the cells of the cerebral cortex caused by hashish and marijuana, quite serious mental complications arise. In men, as a result of hashish addiction, the production of sex hormones is noticeably reduced, which leads to a weakening of sexual function up to impotence.
