There are various ways to smoke pure DMT, including in Changa herbal blend. It usually contains MAOIs such as Banisteriopsis caapi to modify and prolong exposure. Another method is to take DMT between cannabis, which again will change the effect.
Take a glass tube and put DMT into the bowl through the hole in the top. Before bringing the tube to your mouth, inhale and exhale deeply several times to saturate your lungs with oxygen. When you're ready to smoke, use your lighter to gently heat the bottom of the bowl (about 5-7 cm away) by tilting it from side to side. "Empty" the lungs and inhale the smoke deeply, but as needed to avoid coughing. Hold the smoke in your lungs for 15-20 seconds and exhale.
Alternatively, you may prefer to use a more advanced electronic vaporizer. For most people, the threshold dose of DMT is 5 to 10 mg, but sometimes even 2 mg is sufficient. Therefore, we expect that the microdose will be less than 10 mg.
Consistent with Strassman's results, 0.1 mg/kg (by body weight) should be considered a provisional upper limit for microdosing. At this dose, participants reported unpleasant physical exertion bordering on psychedelic effects, similar to the electrically charged sensation of a threshold dose, but without the psychedelic experience.
It is best to start with a very small amount, measured to a precise scale. Since heated DMT tends to leave a residue with its own unique psychoactivity, it is also important to rinse the glass tubes with alcohol and salt to maintain full control over subsequent doses. According to some users, preheating the tubing can help prevent sediment buildup.
Some of those who microdose DMT consider it a powerful nootropic. At a dose of 10mg, it has been found to increase awareness and concentration even better than LSD, and may be useful for meditation - although at this relatively high dose it also produces eye-closed visuals.
Some also report feeling less judgmental of themselves and others, not only on the day of the microdose, but a day or two after. Depression may subside, anxiety may be relieved, and colors and visual acuity may be slightly improved. According to one microdosing of DMT (in doses of 0.5 to 5 mg), there was also a sense of "reminder" that "we are all eternal souls hanging around infinity."
